California DHCS Requests Extension on Implementing RMTS for the School MAA Program

On February 21, DHCS announced that they requested an extension of interim claiming through FY 2014/15 for the school-based MAA program. This would allow the state to delay the implementation of a new program utilizing the Random Moment Time Survey (RMTS) method from July 1, 2014 to July 1, 2015.

An official approval or denial of the state’s request has not yet been published.

DHCS stated that they requested the extension, “due to concerns raised by school districts…”. All stakeholders will have the opportunity to discuss the draft SMAA-RMTS plan, the ongoing process to release funds for deferred invoices, and general topics of interest at the second DHCS-hosted Stakeholder Forum on Monday, March 24, 2014 in Sacramento (webinar and telephone access also available).
