California School MAA Program Deferral and RMTS Update

Reasonableness Test Criteria (RTC) & Deferred MAA Claims
Back in October 2013 the state released PPL 13-012 in which they lay out the process by which schools will receive money for claims that have been deferred since June 2012.  Once the RTC has been applied to each deferred invoice and the results are approved, the invoices will be processed for payment.  The process of applying the criteria to all applicable invoices has begun in earnest for school districts throughout the state.

New SMAA Program Plan
The release of the second draft of California’s SMAA RMTS program plan, scheduled to go into effect on July 1, 2014, has been delayed.  In the interim, DHCS announced in their most recent SMAA program update that a new stakeholder group will be formed in order to provide a forum for interested parties to discuss the program openly with each other and the Department.
