DHCS Launches Webpage to Track Incorporation of RMTS into the LEA Billing Program

California’s Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) launched a new webpage where stakeholders can follow the RMTS Implementation Advisory Group (IAG) which will be meeting over the next couple of months to discuss the design and development of RMTS for California’s school-based direct services (LEA Billing) program.

RMTS is a method of time capture that was recently incorporated into California’s school-based Medi-Cal Administrative Activities (MAA) program. One of the items tracked under RMTS is the amount of time spent by participants performing direct medical services. While many states use RMTS time results for both their administrative and direct services program, California does not. The federal Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) mandated a shift to RMTS for the direct services program when they conditionally approved RMTS for California’s SMAA program.

DHCS will be posting IAG meeting summaries to their website, and allowing stakeholders who are not on the IAG to submit questions, concerns and feedback through a feedback tool.
