New Research Shows Link Between Wellness Services and Student Success

A new joint research study has resulted in solid evidence that participation in Wellness Center services “significantly increases youth development assets at school.”  Assets are defined as characteristics of the school environment that are directly linked to improved attendance and academic success. This innovative study compared groups of students who use school-based health and wellness services and those that do not.  Among other findings, the study conclusively shows that those using these services at all, not just at high frequency, benefit from relative increases in higher assets.
