Paradigm Speaks at National Convening on Free Care and Third Party Liability

August 9, 2014 – Washington, D.C. – Paradigm Healthcare Services was invited to speak at a gathering of children’s health leaders, advocates, and associations to discuss the history of two major obstacles to funding for school health services, free care and third party liability (TPL).  The meeting was hosted by LEAnet and sponsored by the National Alliance of Medicaid in Education (NAME).

Representatives from more than 30 national organizations spent the afternoon working to identify solutions and develop strategies to work with the federal Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) to eliminate free care and TPL requirements for children’s health programs. Currently, free care and TPL represent the largest barriers to funding for an array of health services that are provided to general and special education student populations nationwide. Paradigm has been a premier advocate on both issues, producing policy briefs, issue analysis, and educating legislators and policymakers on the challenges and potential solutions to these obstacles.
