2016 Legislative Session: Bills We’re Tracking
The August deadline is fast approaching for bills in the California legislature to pass out of committee and both houses. As such, committees will be meeting frequently over the coming weeks and several bills will undergo additional changes before passing or failing in their final form.
Here are several bills related to school health that we’re tracking this session (tip: click the ‘Bill Analysis’ tab and download the most recent file for a quick summary on each bill):
- Senate Bill 123, Medi-Cal School-Based MAA
- Assembly Bill 38, Mental Health: Early Diagnosis and Preventative Treatment Program
- Assembly Bill 766, Public School Health Center Support Program
- Assembly Bill 796, Health Care Coverage: Autism and Pervasive Developmental Disorders
- Assembly Bill 1018, Medi-Cal: Early and Periodic Screening, Diagnosis, and Treatment (EPSDT)
- Assembly Bill 1025, Pupil Health: Multitiered and Integrated Interventions Pilot Program
- Assembly Bill 1644, School-Based Early Mental Health Intervention and Prevention Services
- Senate Bill 118, School-Based Health and Education Partnership Program
If a bill passes both houses by the August 31 deadline, it must still be signed (or vetoed) by the Governor by September 30, 2016.
