Renewal of Determination That a Public Health Emergency Exists

On April 15, 2021, Xavier Becerra, the Secretary of U.S. Health and Human Services, renewed that a public health emergency exists and has continued to exist since January 27, 2020. This renewal is effective as of April 21, 2021, and we assume it will likely extend for 90-days through to July 14, 2021.

This means that the waivers established this past year for LEAs, such as the waiver for billing telehealth services, remains intact and will continue at least through July 14, 2021.
